    Spiti Valley Road Trip

    10 days · Kaza, Chandratal & Manali

Spiti Valley Expedition is a 10-day group trip for solo travellers aged 18 to 40 into one of the highest, driest corners of the Himalaya. You climb gradually from Shimla through Kinnaur's river gorges to the high-altitude desert around Kaza, visiting cliffside monasteries, fossil villages and what's widely described as the world's highest post office, before crossing Kunzum Pass to camp near Chandratal, the moon lake, and finishing in Manali. Your Trip Host is with the group throughout.

    Is this trip for you?

    Pace
Ten days gaining height gradually from Shimla, which is easier on the body than flying or driving straight up from Manali, with long driving days balanced by full days around Kaza.
    Comfort
Guesthouses and homestays with basic but clean rooms, mostly shared bathrooms at altitude, and a camp near Chandratal on the last night before Manali.
    Great if you
want remote mountains, Buddhist monasteries and proper altitude, and you're prepared for basic rooms, cold nights and long days on mountain roads.
    Rooms
You share a twin room with a traveller of the same gender where rooms allow it. In some homestays and at the Chandratal camp, rooms or tents are shared with more than one other traveller.

    Who travels with you

    Meet Sarthak, your Trip Host

Sarthak's best travel memories come from going solo: hostel dorms, a new activity most days, new cultures and new food. SoloNomads grew out of that.

Sarthak travels with every group, from the first day to the last, so there's always someone on hand to sort things out when plans change and to make sure nobody gets left out.

In every country, a licensed local agency and licensed local guides look after the ground services, so you get local know-how too.
