This Cookie Policy explains how Sarthak Dhonchak (sole proprietor) ("SoloNomads", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on https://solonomads.com (the "Site"), and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

    1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things about your visit, such as your preferences, or help us understand how the Site is used. Some cookies are essential for the Site to work; others need your consent or, where the law allows it, are on by default with an easy way to opt out.

We work out which rules apply to you from your approximate country, detected automatically from your hosting/network location when you load the Site (an IP-based geolocation signal from our hosting provider) — not from a separate tracking cookie.

    • European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, and the Canadian province of Quebec (and anywhere we can't detect your country): analytics cookies are off until you opt in. A cookie banner appears before any non-essential cookie is set, and lets you:

    - Accept all — allow all cookie categories below; - Reject all — allow only strictly necessary cookies; or - Customise — choose which non-essential categories to allow.

Non-essential cookies (analytics and, if used, marketing) are only set after you give consent, in line with the EU ePrivacy Directive/GDPR, the UK PECR/UK GDPR, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), and Quebec's Law 25.

    • Everywhere else — including Canada outside Quebec (PIPEDA) and New Zealand (Privacy Act 2020) — analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are on by default, so we can understand how the Site is used from the start. You can switch them off at any time — see clause 5. We rely on legitimate interests, implied/meaningful consent, or the notice-and-opt-out model permitted under the applicable local law, rather than prior consent, in regions where the law allows this. We don't set marketing/advertising cookies on this basis, and we don't sell your personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising anywhere.

You can change your choice at any time regardless of region — see clause 5.

Required for the Site to function: security, load balancing, remembering your cookie consent choice, keeping you signed in to your account, and enabling core features like the reservation form.Consent-preference cookies; sign-in cookies (`sn.session_token`, `sn.session_data`, `sn_signed_in`); and, in your browser's local storage, your saved trips on this device (`sn-saved-trips`, `sn-saved-sync`)No — these don't require consent and can't be switched off, as they're essential to deliver the Site you've requested
Helps us understand how visitors use the Site (pages viewed, time on site, general location) so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and PostHog. PostHog can also record replays of visits, with everything you type hidden, so we can see where pages are confusing. In the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Brazil and Quebec (and where we can't detect your country), it's set only after you opt in; elsewhere, it's on by default and you can opt out any time.`_ga`, `_ga_*` (Google Analytics); `ph_*_posthog` cookie and matching local storage entry (PostHog)Yes, everywhere
If used, helps us measure the performance of ads and show relevant content on other sites. *(Not currently in use — this row will be activated and this policy updated if that changes.)*—Yes

    4. Third-party cookies

Where analytics cookies are active for you (see clause 2), Google Analytics 4 and PostHog may set cookies on your device and process data about your visit in accordance with Google's privacy policy and PostHog's privacy policy. PostHog stores its data in the EU.

We also use Sentry to spot errors on the Site. It sets no cookies and runs whatever your cookie choice, because it only receives technical error reports with personal details removed; see our Privacy Policy. We don't control third-party cookies directly; check the relevant provider's own policy for details.

Wherever you are, you can change or withdraw your analytics choice at any time by:

    • using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer to reopen the consent banner and change your choice, including turning analytics off if it's currently on by default; or
    • clearing cookies in your browser settings, which will reset your preference and, in the EEA/UK/Switzerland/Brazil/Quebec, show the banner again on your next visit.

    6. Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how parts of the Site work, including the reservation form.

    7. US state privacy rights

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so most US "Do Not Sell/Share" mechanisms don't apply to us. If you're a resident of a US state with its own privacy law (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut or Virginia), you can still opt out of analytics cookies at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer, as described in clause 5, and we honour recognised opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.

    8. India

If you're in India, please also see our Privacy Policy for how we describe cookies and analytics under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

    9. Canada and New Zealand

If you're in Canada outside Quebec or in New Zealand, analytics cookies are on by default under the notice-and-opt-out approach described in clause 2, and you can switch them off at any time via "Cookie settings" — see clause 5. Quebec residents get the opt-in banner described in clause 2, per Law 25. See our Privacy Policy for how this fits PIPEDA (Canada) and the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand).

    10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. The "last updated" date at the top shows the latest revision.
